PARBAT: The Kushma-Gyandi suspension bridge festival is to be organised in Parbat district to attract tourists to the district.
The Kushma-Gyandi Suspension Bridge Users Committee has made necessary preparations for the festival with the view of increasing tourists to suspension bridge, said to be the country's highest bridge.
Tanka Lamichhane, Secretary of the Committee, said they are going to organise the festival on Nepali month of Magh, making the bridge as the central attraction on the Nepal Tourism Year- 2011.
Preparations have also been made to promote Gupteshor Cave, Alapeshor Cave as well as other tourist areas in the district.
The organizers are also working to begin 'Bungee Jump' at the Suspension Bridge in the near future to attract tourists.
The bridge is 135 meters in height and 344 meters in length and links Kushma Bazaar, headquarters of Parbat district to Katuwa Chaupari VDC.
A team including Joint-Secretary Laxman Bhattarai of Nepal Tourism Board and Bishnu Neupane, investor of Bhote Koshi Bungee Jump confirmed possibility of bungee jumping from the bridge.
Businessmen, Industrialists and members of the Committee have join hands to begin bungee jumping from the bridge after the district council approved some budget for it. RSS
