Culture Of Parbat District

The culture of the district can be categorize in two major parts i.e. Ethnic culture and Archoeological monuments. The district is a home to a diverse range of ethnic groups like Gurungs, Magars and Newars. The Gurungs people are the original indigenous ethnic group of western nepal. Religion custom, tradition, folk lore, language, fairs and festival, living style of the people, harvesting pattern art craft etc. are own unique features of those indigenous groups.

Archoelogical monuments are also equally important as cultural sectorin parbat district. Temple, Gumbas, Pati, Devalaya, Silajit, Cave, Religious pillar etc. are major monuments in the district. Silajit (Saligram) of setibeni is a very religious holy area and pilgrimage destination for all of the people and other way paiyun kot temple is very famous in paiyun chettra. Similarly, Modibeni, Gupteshwor Guffa, Durlung Kot, Panchase and other Gumbas are situated in the horthern side are famous cultural monuments in the district. These are the major cultural attraction for the tourism.
